Synopsis:

Enterprise is set in the 22nd century, nearly 100 years before James T. Kirk, during the early pioneering days of deep space exploration, when interstellar travel is in its infancy and the United Federation of Planets is still decades away. Captain Jonathan Archer is the prototype for Starfleet captains to come; he's bold, intensely curious and eager to venture where no man has gone before. Unlike the seasoned, sometimes unflappable officers of the 24th century, the crew of Enterprise exhibits a sense of wonder and excitement, as well as a little trepidation about the strange things they'll encounter. With their star charts mostly empty, they'll have to prove they are ready for life among the stars.

5 out of 5 stars Best Star Trek since the Original!   September 4, 2008
Jon Lister (Baton Rouge, LA)
I have watched all of Enterprise and it is easily the best Star Trek series since the original. Yes, even better Next Generation, which was less than perfect for me. And far better than DS9 and Voyager which were mixed bags, with less than compelling and irritating characters, and repetitive story lines. Enterprise drags a little in season 3 but picks up again for the final season.

5 out of 5 stars the best star trek series   August 12, 2008

no robots learning to sneeze, whistle or growing beards, telling stand-up jokes and tap dancing. no goofy kids saving the day- enterprise was gritty and more real. this was not just "star trek" -this was great epic stories with visuals that looked like feature films. enterprise from the start of the series was bad to the bone and when it really hit it's stride it blew away all other treks(except deep space nine-which is my other fav.) enterprise was warm and exciting and intense-once you start watching the show you will want to watch more. this show rarely did not hit it's mark- i would give this show 6 stars if i could. i would give sesaon 3 10 stars. enterprise will make your jaw drop, make you yell with anger and excitement. you will feel the pain and joy of the characters. enterprise will make you high five your kids and wife and do tiger woods fist pumps when the good guys get even and give the evil doers what for.

5 out of 5 stars Star Trek is star trek   July 17, 2008

I just love the fact that I can watch the Trek episodes whenever I want. To me, Star Trek is Star Trek. No matter what Trek series, they are all very good, if not great, TV. Why be so critical?

2 out of 5 stars 5 star show - dismal service   January 19, 2008

What gives?! The product listing for Unbox said you'd deliver videos with DVD quality. They look more like YouTube quality videos. Seriously, they're not even as good as plain old standard TV. They would have looked pretty OK on my iPod, but they weren't much fun to look at on my 42" LCD screen. Everything was soft and fuzzy in most scenes and the tonal scale was very limited. Just so you know, DVD quality isn't an arbitrary standard-- it's 480P, not 240x160.
To make things even less enjoyable, your servers delivered the product at an excruciating pace. Ready to watch in 15 minutes?! No. More like three hours. There was the occasional burst of data at 1500 Kbps, but it was generally around 400 Kbps. I ordered eight 42 minute episodes more than 24 hours ago and am still downloading the last one. Not impressive.

5 out of 5 stars One Awesome Series!   January 6, 2008

When I first tried to watch "Enterprise" I honestly didn't think I'd like it. When it was on T.V. I missed several episodes because they had a bad time slot. But now, that I'm able to watch them when I have the time, I truly feel this is one of the best Star Trek series made. Scott Bakula is great! I know some think he was the weakest or worst of the captains, but I thought for this role of one of the first captains to represent mankind to the galaxy, Bakula was the best choice. He already held a persona at least in my mind of being an very moral convicted and passionate man. Most of that probably came from the role he played as Dr. Sam Beckette on Quantum Leap (of which I was also a huge fan). When you think about how Gene Rodenberry portrayed TOS, with a high standard for moral conduct, very little character conflict, and a strong sense of family - you need all those things in Starfleets first captain to show us how it got to that point. And Scott Bakula fits that bill. This first season is packed with exciting stories, real adventure, and thought provoking writing. This series is well worth every penny you'll spend and it will answer many questions about the beginnings of this wonderful, positive and adventuresome world we call Star Trek!!!
