5 out of 5 stars MOST ROMANTIC ALBUM EVER!!!   June 6, 2008

This is by far the most romantic album I've ever listened to and I purchased this CD/album directly from www.therealbrentspiner.com and Brent personalized it with his famous signature. This album has a different feel to it than Ol' Yellow Eyes, ( Brent's previous album) and has a romantic story line based on dreams of love and blossoming romance. The singing is amazing and heart-felt. Both Brent Spiner and Maude Maggart harmonize beautifully in this radio-styled drama set to music and classic favorites. The sound effects will blow you away and capture you right from the start and bring you all the way through. Mark Hamil from 'Star Wars' is awesome as he does all the other male voices in the background. I encourage all of you to give this fabulous album a listen, not just once, but over and over again. It's fresh, it's something new and strikingly unique and tasteful.

Note: I have perfect pitch as a musician myself and Brent and Maude are singing right on key and the arrangements are great!

5 out of 5 stars Maude in top form!   May 14, 2008

I bought this after seeing Miss Maggart at the Algonquin out of curiosity and boy, was it a pleasant surprise. It's great to hear Maude with an orchestra behind her as it just adds to the beautiful colors she is capable of creating on her own. But the nicest surprise was that this "audio film" is quite entertaining. I really got caught up in the story and characters and believe them as a couple. And Maude is a natural as an actresss. Of course Brent Spiner's already known as a solid actor but his voice is just fine. They actually blend very nicely and the songs seamlessly flow from dialog to song. Also, the FX are great! you really feel like you're there. My first thought was that I'd love to see this on Broadway.

I'd love to see more cd's take this approach - making for something more entertaining than just a bunch of songs. This could catch on.

I'd recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Miss Maggart or of theatre/cabaret but also to anyone looking for something fresh. Funny, how an idea from over 60 years ago can be considered "new", but this is more than what you'll find in an old time radio show.

I received my copy as a gift on the day of the CD's release. I listened immediately and was quite pleased with what I heard. Dreamland is a story about people, mistakes, love, and dreams. I disagree with the reviewer that suggests Shatner is a better singer than Spiner. I find Brent's voice appealing, singing or speaking. I also enjoy almost all of the songs on this disc.

Like the man, himself, says: 'Dreamland is an audiofilm of the mind.' A rather good one, too. I am thrilled that Spiner and Hamill worked together on this. I've wanted them to do something together for years. :)

I was so impressed, I called another friend, told her about Dreamland, let her hear my copy and asked if she'd like me to get her one. She said yes. So, I got a copy at Grand Slam this year, from Mr. Spiner, himself! :D

I hope to hear more in the future. Well done, sir! *Applause*

I have bought this CD in March essentially because I am a great fan of Brent.
I suggest to buy this CD because it creates a particular atmosphere, like those of Sinatra in the 40 years or like a musical...
Maude has a great voice, she is a very talented singer and I hope that she could sing again... as well as Brent...
for me these compliments are the absolute objective truth, because in fact I am a great fan of Linkin Park, it means, I hear another kind of music, but this CD is so special that everybody on myspace made a compliment to Brent!

I couldn't get halfway thru this CD. The arrangements all sound off, Spiner is singing off key. I honestly think this was meant to be a comedy CD. Save your money, or if you want to buy a CD by a Star Trek cast member that is worth it, get Shatners "Has Been"
