Trekkie or No Trekkie this cd is for you!May 16, 2008 David Colvin(Oak park IL) Never was a trekkie, saw one of the movies, KAAAAAHHN! But these cd is worth its price! Too funny and great to listen to. So whether or not your a trekkie you'll love it. What were they thinking?!
A Must Have ClassicFebruary 23, 2008 M. Province(Portland, OR) Played this awesome album in my college painting class... until our professor begged us to stop. Highly recommended, I'm a huge Shat fan. Who remembers Nimoy's Bilbo Baggins video?
Shatner and Nimoy take flight!December 11, 2007 Elan Bodwick(las vegas) First Shatners Lucy in the sky with Diamonds has to be heard to be believed- its lunacy and camp at its best. Suprisingly Nimoy's vocals are pretty decent in a deep monotone baritone kind of way(think Leonard Cohen) and his song selection of classic 60s folk and pop numbers are top notch- in fact i find myself listening to his versions more than the orginals. But theres alot here to laugh at - the spoken word stuff by both Star trek legends is hilarious as well as the instrumental songs. But dont be suprised if you dig some of Nimoys stuff- in particular Everbody's talkin-If i were a carpenter and Both sides now. Ps- the "ballad of bilbo Baggins" should have all tolkien fans doubled over in fits of laughter.
A gemSeptember 26, 2007 anonymous I bought this years ago. It was absolutely hilarious. Just listened to it again. Still hilarious. Timeless. Seriously, Shatner doing the Beatles never, ever gets old. But the surprising part is, some of these songs get beyond their cheesiness--especially a couple of Nimoy's--and are actually charming. Not great music, to be sure, but listenable and enjoyable. And the track called Music for Watching Spacegirls is just plain good and should be in more soundtracks. So buy this: it's funny, it's cute, if you're a fan of these two, you'll love it. Great bang for your buck, too--there's a ton of tracks here.
Perfect Gift for the Star Trek Fan in your LifeAugust 26, 2007 Bevy McM(San Francisco, CA United States) This CD is truly the perfect gift for the Star Trek fan in your life (and we all have at least one!). The other reviewers really capture the flavor and texture of these masterpieces, so I'll just add my take on it:
If you really liked the original Star Trek TV series, then you really deserve this!
