2 out of 5 stars The Base Is Useless   May 14, 2008
Alessandro Abate (Miami, Florida)
The ship itself is fun but the way that it connects to the base is useless. The base is unstable at best and has a tendency to fall. Mine fell of the shelf it was on and broke. I would not buy this model, it was badly designed.

5 out of 5 stars Original Enterprise is a winner!   March 26, 2008
Paul D. King (Pearl, MS USA)
Absolutely fantastic! I've been a Trek fan since I was a very little boy, watching re-runs with my older brother. I'd have given ANYTHING to have a toy like this back then! Fantastic detail in all the markings (much better than the models I used to build), and the lights and sound effects just set it off even more! Sure, there's the little plugs under the bottom of the primary hull, but who care's?? I don't look under there THAT much. Diamond Select did a wonderful job, and I'm extremely pleased with my ship...and have been showing it off!

4 out of 5 stars Very nice model of a classic ship   March 15, 2008
Guanxiong Mao (Oakland)
This model by Art Asylum is very detailed and faithful to the original studio Enterprise model. First, I will point out the minor problems: 1)the secondary hull is a bit too cylindrical and doesn't taper toward the end as much as it should but it's an extremely small deviation that's hard to notice 2)unlike art asylum's other models, this one being slightly cheaper, also uses a slight more crude assembly method: use screws which are covered by these circular plastic plugs that are not painted right (too light) so they are visible on the side of the ship. The plastic mold is very durable though and the warp nacelles, deflector dish, and saucer section will certainly not disappoint. The windows are nicely painted in (not like AA's enterprise E and enterprise A) and the formation lights, bridge light, and nacelle light beautifully light up in the dark. Plus there's a neat display mode that lights up the ship indefinitely without the sound running on.

Conclusion: for around 25$, the accuracy you get in for a beautiful sturdy model of a classic ship, this is a bargain (way better than old Playmates crap)

4 out of 5 stars Can't beat the original   February 29, 2008
Jay Scardina (Marietta, GA United States)
If your fan of Star Trek then you can't go wrong with starting a collection with the original Enterprise. It has several sound clips, my faves being the transporter and the communicator.

5 out of 5 stars Happiness Abounds   November 21, 2007
ScytheBoB
This Enterprise fills me with a glee that cannot be expressed with words. All I need now are A, B, C, and D, and I'll have the complete set. Perhaps Voyager and Defiant will come in the future? Seriously, though, the USS Enterprise - 1701 will make anyone pleasantly giddy.
